MOUD Iran – 347 x 250 cm, Oriental hand-knotted wool rug without central medallion, on a beige background, with minor wear. Sold with its certificate of authenticity, in very good condition. The rug is professionally cleaned. Can be collected on site. The town of Moud is located in the south of the province of Khorassan (in eastern Persia) 300 kilometres south of Mashad and south of Bidjan. Moud rugs have very refined designs, either with a central motif and spandrels, or decorated all over the inner field with a herati motif. It is easy to distinguish the style between Moud Mahi and Moud Jardin, Mahi often being beige with a burgundy red or midnight blue tinge and featuring a star-shaped medallion.
