ESFAHAN Iran – 320 x 203 cm, Hand-knotted Oriental rug in wool and silk, very fine, with floral medallion on a beige background, dark border and floral pattern. They are considered to be the finest of all Persian rugs. Sold with its certificate of authenticity, in very good condition. The rug is professionally cleaned. Can be collected on site. ESFAHAN : The motifs are often inspired by mosaics or the city’s gardens and palaces. Isfahan is known for its fine, often extremely dense rugs, Senneh knots, sometimes with silk warps. The material is predominantly wool. The colours are of the highest quality. The motifs consist of medallions with palmettes and arabesques, Shah Abbas motifs, but there are also figurative motifs.
